Chang Zheng CZ-X |
China Aerospace Science and technology Corporation
The as yet
unnamed commercial launch vehicle is based on not accepted Lunar variant of a
CZ-FH proposed
by SAST.
The CZ-X uses a core element 3.80 m in diameter with 4 YF-100K engines. A second
stage uses 2 YF-115 engines. The total length of the CZ-X, including a fairing 8.7
m long and 4.20 m in diameter, is 58.68 m and the take-off weight is 433.26 t. The
capacity for a 700 km SSO is given as 5 t.
The CZ-X
from CASC has different dimensions and uses
five (?) YF-201 engines. This engine is a changed hypergolic YF-20 engine with a
new turbopump and kerosene/LOX as propellant.
According to CASC, YF-102 basic version has sea level thrust of 835kN, with sea
level impulse of 275.5s. Five of this engines can be fitted into 3.35m diameter
first stage. There will be a vacuum version ready by 2023. Some testing shots of
the basic version YF-102. This engine can be ready by the end of 2021.
A reusable version YF-201R (ready 2026) is to be used in a larger launch vehicle
with nine engines.
